1st team lose out at Lutterworth

28 Apr 2014

After a good start last week the first team lost out to Lutterworth Town 2nd's on Saturday.

Barwell bowled first and did well to restrict their opponents to 171-8; veteran Kev Hines continued his good start to the season with his 3-38 the pick of our attack.

In reply it wasn't a bad start with the bat at 42-2, but wickets began to fall and suddenly it was 49-6. Although there was a slight recovery when Adam Waters came to the crease the loss of wickets proved crucial and the firsts were bowled out for 122 and collected five points. Overseas player Trent Rollins top scored with 37 and Waters scored 27.

The firsts are back in action this Saturday at Kirkby Road against Market Harborough.
