Match report Barwell 1st XI's winning start to the season ended with a home defeat to Ratby Town.

On a bitterly cold afternoon Barwell bowled Ratby Town out for 157 in the 36th over. The wicket takers were Kyle Newall (3 for 39), Ady Baker (2 for 14), Liam O'Rourke (2 for 21), Nick Hines (2 for 23) and Ben Betteridge (1 for 22).

Unfortunately, wicketkeeper Sam Fisher took a blow to the chin which required a visit to hospital and 4 stitches!! Fisher did not make it back for the batting innings which meant they were a batsman light in their run chase.

The run chase got off to a steady start, but when Ady Baker was out for 21 Barwell were 57 for 2. When Clint Baker was caught for 55 Barwell were on 101 for 3 and perfectly placed to chase down the winning total of 158.

Sadly the innings tailed away and Barwell were eventually all out for 139.
