Match report This local derby had the added spice of a top of the table clash.

Barwell held the early advantage, reducing their opponents to 72 for 5 after Amateurs had won the toss and elected to bat.

Scores from Alan York (81) and Andrew Wainscot (52) helped Amateurs to an imposing total of 243 as they were bowled out in their final over. Barwell's wicket takers were Liam O'Rourke (4 for 50), Ady Baker (3 for 26), Ben Betteridge (2 for 60) and Nick Hines (1 for 50) and were helped by Dec Allen who took 3 catches.

Ady Baker and Guy Norris put on a solid 36 for the opening wicket before Ady Baker was caught for 12 and Guy Norris followed shortly after when he was bowled for 28.

Darren Roach and Clint Baker took the score to 116 before Roach, who had hit two huge sixes, was caught for 30. Baker was the next to fall as he was caught in the deep for a well crafted 55.

It was left to Tommy Wright (28 not out) and Dec Allen (17 not out) to take Barwell to 179 for 5 after their 45 overs ensuring that they went home with some valuable batting and draw points.
