Match report Barwell were away to Mountsorrel Castle this week. Barwell lost the toss & were asked to bat first.

Barwell batsmen Ady Baker & Dec Allen got off to a brilliant start putting on 114 for the first wicket before Dec Allen was caught behind for an excellent 59 including 10 4s & 1 6. Whilst Ady Baker continued to control the tempo of the game for the remainder of the innings finishing with a superb 103 not out. Barwell new signing Neil Cowdrey scored an excellent 55 leaving Barwell with an excellent 266 for 4.

Barwell again got off to a great start taking 2 wickets inside 8 overs thanks to another excellent opening spell from Lee Skene (2-36). Mountsorrel were 34 for 2 and their batsmen continued to be overly aggressive losing wickets as a cost. Kyle Newall bowled with excellent control once again and was unlucky to only have 1-43. Neil Cowdrey however now in the wickets taking 4-37! Barwell needed just 1 wicket with 13 overs left but unlucky to not take the final wicket, finishing with a big winning draw and 21 points.

Captain comments "Ady Baker has been a revelation this season, he has taken 28 wickets & scored nearly 300 runs. Not bad for a 50 year old.

I have faith in my team & believe that if we focus game by game & play with the confidence we have right now we'll be playing division 2 cricket next season."
