Match report Barwell endured a tough day at the office against fellow promotion rivals Shepshed.

Batting first, Shepshed posted a mammoth 312 for 3 off their 45 overs. All the bowlers struggled on a batting friendly wicket, though 15 year old George Rolfe bowled well to concede just 47 from his 8 overs.

Nick Hines claimed two wickets and Ady Baker one to each 50 for the season.

The run chase was always going to be difficult and Barwell were soon reduced to 43 for 4. Clint Baker with 31 and Liam O'Rourke with 57 brought some respectability to the score and a late 20 from John Ives helped bring the score to 145 for 7.

In the end it was left to Nick Hines and John Morley to bat out for the draw as Barwell ended on 181 for 9 off their 45 overs.

The result sees Barwell slip to 5th in the table and 26 points off an automatic promotion spot with just two games left to play.
