Match report Barwell 2nds faced another tough fixture away at improving Ashby Hastings 2nds.

After winning the toss Ashby Hastings chose to bat first and put on an impressive 186 for 9 from their 45 overs.

The wickets were shared between the bowlers who were well supported by some good catching. The wicket takers were Srini Parthasarathi (3 for 33), Liam Tillin (2 for 32), Sam Taylor (1 for 26), Dec Higgins (1 for 34) and George Rowley (1 for 35).

Sam Taylor and Liam Tillin opened the batting for Barwell and faced some difficult swing bowling in humid conditions. Tillin was the first to fall for 13 and Taylor followed shortly after for 11. Three further wickets fell in quick succession to leave Barwell 44 for 5 after 15 overs.

Peter Tillin then joined Sam Fisher and the pair brought some stability to the innings before Fisher was bowled for 28 with the score on 89.

Tillin then, with the help of the tail took the score to 123 for 8 at the end of their 45 overs. Tillin ended on 36 not out and received good support from teenager Lewis Roach who batted well for his 8 runs.
