Match report Barwell 2nds took a young side away to Fatana and came home with their heads held high.

There were times in the week when we thought we would have to conceded the match due to lack of players. In the end Pete Tillin was able to take 11 players, 7 of which were only 16 years old or younger!! Big thanks to Rob Guest who turned out for the club and recruited Liam Castle and Liam Daly for the match, both will be great assets to the second team.

Batting first Barwell's total of 112 all out was largely due to George Rolfe 40, George Baker 28 and Liam Castle 12.

Bowling against one of the strongest sides in the league was never going to be easy and Fatana knocked the runs off for the loss of just two wickets. Both wickets fell to Liam Castle (2 for 16) who claimed a wicket from his first ball thanks to an amazing catch by wicketkeeper Liam Daly.

Thanks should also go to the Fatana team who played the game in a great spirit.
