Match report Barwell 1sts travelled to the far side of the county as they faced Ketton Sports for their second match of the season.

After winning the toss Barwell put Ketton into bat first and did well to contain their batsmen as they reached 113 for 4 of the first 30 overs. Unfortunately for Barwell, Zeeshan Manzoor took a shine to the Barwell bowlers and he took Ketton's total to 220 for 5 off their 45 overs.

The Barwell wicket takers were Ady Baker (3 for 43), Lee Skene (1 for 33) and Ben Betteridge (1 for 58).

In reply, Tommy Wright and George Baker got off to a good start and the score had reached 50 when Tommy was bowled for 15 in the 13th over. George was then joined by Clint Baker and the score was on 78 when George was bowled for 36. Unfortunately the middle couldn't support Clint as he went on to score 50 before also being bowled.

A break for rain meant that Barwell lost 5 overs with a revised target of 203 for the win. It was left to Ady Baker (21 not out) and Nick Hines (17 not out) to take Barwell to 183 for 8 and a frustrating 20 runs short.
