Match report Whilst Barwell 2nds were securing an amazing victory, Barwell 1sts were involved in their own epic match against Leicester Banks.

Winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Barwell got off to a good start as Lee Skene bowled an excellent opening spell where he beat the bat without much luck. It was the extra pace of Liam O'Rourke which reduced Banks to 96 for 4 at the drinks break.

A fifth wicket partnership of 76 looked like it would take Banks to a big scored, but the Barwell bowlers did well to keep their score below 200 as Liam took his 5th wicket in the final over of the innings. The wicket takers were Liam O'Rourke (5 for 50), Ady Baker (2 for 27) and Lee Skene (2 for 36).

Barwell's run chase got off to an uncertain start as they reached 50 for 4 off the first 18 overs, Tommy Wright scoring 24. Jack Smith and Liam O'Rourke then put on a 78 run partnership for the 5th wicket before Jack holed out in the deep for 17.

Liam went on to score 58 with some huge hitting and 15 from Ben Betteridge kept Barwell in the chase for victory. With 25 required off the last 5 overs with just 3 wickets left the result was in the balance. In the end 10 runs were required from the last over with the final pair of Ady Baker and Lee Skene at the crease. The game went down to the last ball as Lee struck a 4 to earn Barwell a rare tie.
