Match report Barwell 1st XI got back to winning ways with a 7 wicket win at home to Syston Town 2nds.

Syston batted first and got off to a flying start before Nick Hines and Liam O'Rourke pegged them back. Syston were eventually bowled out for 146 in the 43rd over with Liam O'Rourke the pick of the bowlers with 4 for 29 off his 12 overs. He was well supported by Ady Baker (2 for 4), Nick Hines (1 for 29), Ben Betteridge (1 for 36) and Lee Skene ( 1 for 44).

Barwell's reply got of to an uncertain start as they were reduced to 23 for 2 off the first 10 overs. When Tommy Wright was caught for a well made 28 Barwell were 65 for 3 off 25 overs. However, an unbroken 4th wicket stand of 82 between Liam O'Rourke and Brad Harvey secured Barwell's victory with 2 overs to spare. Liam's rich vein of form with the bat continued as he finished 78 not out and was well supported by Brad who was 31 not out.
