Match report Barwell secured back to back wins after their 4 wicket win against Newbold Verdon.

Bowling first, Barwell did well to restrict their opponents in the initial stages. It was only in the last 10 overs that Newbold pushed their score on, finishing 167 all out on the last ball of their innings.

The wickets were shared between Neil Cowdrey (4 for 66), Lee Skene (2 for 27), Ady Baker (2 for 27), Liam O'Rourke (1 for 15) and Nick Hines (1 for 25).

Barwell's run chase suffered an early wicket loss, before Tommy Wright and Clint Baker put on 52 for the 2nd wicket. The stand was eventually broken when Tommy was caught for a well made 44. Clint continued to anchor the innings and was eventually 5th man out when he was bowled for 54.

Skipper Jack Smith and Brad Harvey put on 32 for the 6th wicket before Jack was bowled for 20 with just 10 runs required for victory. Brad (14 not out) and Jon Fitt (9 not out) saw Barwell over the line with just 4 balls to spare.

The win sees Barwell move into second place in the table where just 20 points covers Barwell in 2nd place and Hinckley Town 2nds in 7th place.
