Match report Barwell 1sts got their promotion push back on track with an excellent 9 run win away at Leicester Banks.

Batting first, Barwell lost an early wicket before Danny Moran and Clint Baker put on 50 for the 2nd wicket. Danny brought his Thursday night form to the 1sts team as he dominated the partnership before being bowled for 35.

Clint held the innings together and his classy 90 not out enabled Barwell to reach 194 for 7 off their 42 overs.

Banks got their run chase off to a good start before Lee Skene and Ben Betteridge ripped through their batting order to leave them 75 for 6 off 20 overs. Banks then put on 70 for the 7th wicket before George Rolfe held his nerve to claim 3 valuable wickets. Liam Castle claimed the last wicket to leave Banks 9 runs short and give Barwell a valuable win.

Lee Skene, with 4 for 34, produced his best bowling performance of the year and was well supported by Ben Betteridge (2 for 45), George Rolfe (3 for 41) and Liam Castle (1 for 30).
