Match report Barwell 2nds travelled to Broomleys 2nds for their first match of the season.

Bowling first, Barwell once again struggled to take wickets with a number of catches going down. Economical bowling performances from Aiden Page and Liam Tillin were not enough to restrict Broomleys, who scored 212 for 3 in their 40 overs. The wicket takers were Dec Allen (2 for 47) and Nathan Clarke (1 for 40).

In reply, opener Brad Harvey did his best to steer Barwell to victory but struggled as top order batsmen came and went at regular intervals. Skipper James Dillon hung around for a while and he and Brad put on 34 for the 4th wicket before being run out for 14.

Alex Cullen coming in at number 8 proved to be the ideal support for Brad and the pair put on 64 for the 7th wicket before he was caught for 18.

Brad went on to score his maiden century for the club and was eventually caught for an excellent 113, which included 13 boundaries and one 6.

With Brad's departure the innings fell away and Barwell were all out for 196 in the 37th over.
