Match report Barwell 2nds came out on top in one of the most amazing matches in the club's history. One of the players was even heard to say "it was even better than when I played in the first round of the FA Cup"!!

Anstey & Glenfield 2nds batted first and owed much of their mammoth score of 296 for 4 off their 40 overs to their number 4 batsman who scored 183 not out. Most of the Barwell bowlers suffered at his hand, though Rusty maintains his 4 overs for 20 runs was the best bowling of the innings!! The 4 wickets were shared between Liam Castle, Aiden Page, Nathan Clarke and Dec Allen.

With a required run rate of 7.5, most didn't expect Barwell to come away with a win. However, an opening partnership of 102 off 17 overs between Josh Moore and Paul Pierce got Barwell off to an excellent start. Paul was the first to fall when he was caught on the boundary for 37. Dec Allen then joined Josh and was unlucky to be run out after a quick fire 19.

It was the 3rd wicket stand of 109 in 10 overs between Josh and Andy Clarke which really gave Barwell hope. During the stand Josh went to his second career century and was eventually out for 115 in an innings which included 14 4s and 1 leg side 6!

Andy then picked up the run chase and had struck 10 4s and 3 6s when he was eventually bowled for 68 with 25 runs still required for victory and only 4 overs left.

Barwell's victory was finally secured with an over to spare after some lusty blows from Liam Castle (16 not out) and Nathan Clarke (12 not out).
