Match report Barwell's great run of form continued as they secured a 7 wicket win against Newtown Linford 3rds.

Skipper James Dillon once again won the toss and put Newtown in to bat. Liam Tillin took an early wicket as he bowled one of their openers for 4 and then Kyle Newall came on to take 3 quick wickets. However, a 5th wicket stand between Rowe (105) and Hoult (72 not out) took Newtown to over 200, before a couple of late wickets saw their innings close on 220 for 6 of the 40 overs. The wicket takers were Kyle Newall (3 for 37), Liam Tillin (1 for 22) and Andy Clarke (1 for 37).

Barwell's run chase got off to an uncertain start as Pete Tillin could barely lay bat on ball. Thankfully Garry Roach had no such problems as he scored freely before being bowled for 22. With Eddie Cross falling cheaply and then Pete being bowled for 27, Barwell were suddenly 65 for 3 off the first 15 overs.

However, Barwell just seem to find ways of winning these days and a magnificent unbeaten 4th wicket stand of 161 between Kyle Newall (94 not out) and James Dillon (54 not out) saw Barwell to victory with 3 overs to spare. Kyle looked to be in no trouble at all as he stroked the ball to all areas of the field, finishing with a flurry of sixes as he finished just 6 runs short of a well deserved century.

James found his best form of the season and managed to reach his half century with a 6 to take Barwell to their win. Barwell's 8th win of the season sees them move to the top of the table with spirits continuing to rise.
