Match report If there was ever a match which proved the old adage that "catches win matches" this was it.

Barwell won the toss and elected to bowl first on a day where rain was always a threat. Sadly Barwell chose this day to produce one of their worst bowling and fielding performances of the season. Five catches went down as bowlers couldn't quite find their line and length. Darren Roach (2 for 34) and Kyle Newall restored some control in the middle overs, but 37 off the last 3 overs took Bardon's total out to 232 for 2 off their 36 overs.

Barwell's reply got off to a good start as James Dillon and Paul Pierce put on 84 for the first wicket. Paul was the first to fall as he was run out for 37, which brought Andy Clarke to the wicket.

James and Andy put on 76 off 9 overs as Andy hit a quick fire 56 before being caught in the deep. James fell in the same manner 2 overs later as he fell just after reaching his half century.

After their departure Barwell just couldn't quite find the boundary rope as tight bowling and excellent catching kept them in check. In the end Barwell finished on 210 for 7 and 23 runs short of victory.

It is to Barwell's credit that they got so close to Bardon's total, close enough to secure what could still prove to be a valuable 8 points in their push for promotion.
